Write Down Your Victories

The list below is just an evidence of the practice, of the Israelites, to record their victories and deliverance.  The Bible is a literal history of all that happened to the Jews.  Nowadays, we tend to go through the struggles and challenges and then thank God when he has brought us through.  But, I want to implore you to start the habit of writing down what God has done for you.

We need to record, write down, all the victories we have had so that future generations can read our stories and know what God did for us.  Imagine if Moses, Joshua, and the disciples never wrote down what took place in their time.  We would only have word-of-mouth knowledge that would have been subjected to change and distortion overtime.  But with the written record, we have the same undistorted version all over the world.  What I read about the goodness of God in Jamaica, someone else reads the same story about God’s goodness Sri Lanka.

I have heard many people saying that God is not “doing” anything nowadays.  They believe that the saving grace he exhibited in the Old Testament no longer occurs and the movement of the Holy Spirit in the New Testament era is a thing of the past.  But that is not so.  The issue is that although we have similar experiences nowadays, the story of it has died with our grandparents, our parents, and the great church leaders.  If they had written what they experienced, just as Martin Luther King Jr and Mahatma Ghandi wrote what they thought and experienced for us to read now, we would have had them to read.  More people would know that the God in the Bible is still the same God today.

Let’s break the pattern.  Let’s pick up the old tradition.  Let us write what God has done for us so that the world will know that Jehovah is still real, still alive, still delivers, and still loves us.  Let us record our stories to be read by our children, grandchildren, and generations to come.  Let us write down our victories.
