Salvation is the Key to the Lock of Sin.
The lock of sin keeps us in cells as prisoners of iniquity. It makes us lie automatically, steal even when we don’t want what we’re stealing, and traps us in the multitude of other sins. Consequently, we need salvation, though Jesus Christ, to set us free us.
Jesus explains that He is the way, the truth and the life, and no man can go to the Father but by [through] Him (John 14:6). This is Salvation. We have to accept Jesus by humbly acknowledging that it is only through Him we will have access to the Father. However, some persons are of the view that once we accept Christ then we WILL make it to heaven, no matter what we say or what we do. BUT, that is not so.
Total Surrender is the Path to Heaven. Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord” shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21).
Let’s go deeper, Jesus informs us that He is the way, the truth, and the life. That it is through Him that will we go to God. He is the key to give us a new life, one that isn’t entangled in sin. But, have you ever wondered what we need to do when we have accepted Jesus and have reached the Father? “…no man can go to the Father but by [through] Him.” What do we need to do when we finally stand before God? Did you know that we can accept Jesus and still rebel against God?
Check this: The Word says that if we believe with our hearts and ”confess with our mouths,” then we shall receive salvation. However, God rebuked the people because they honoured/drew near to Him with their “lips” but their hearts were far from Him (Matt. 15:8).
So … We can openly admit that we need Jesus.
We can confess to all that we love God.
We will call upon Jesus and say, “Lord, Lord, I worship You. I magnify Your name.”
But… After receiving Jesus
After having passed through the gates of sin
After having entered the kingdom and now standing before God, what do we do?
We can love Jesus and STILL rebel against God. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord’ shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21). Salvation, through Jesus, is the Key to being free from sin but Total Surrender is the Path to Heaven.
Once we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, we need to surrender our heart, mind, body, and soul to God. Total, complete surrender will result in us doing the will of our Father.
This type of surrendering, withholding nothing from God, is the only way we will make it to heaven.
